5 Costly Myth's When It Comes To Carpet Cleaning

Myth 1: You should wait as long as possible before cleaning your carpet.

This myth is BUSTED. Cleaning your carpet will not make it get dirty faster. This was probably true back in the olden days when carpets were shampooed. Today's Hot Steam Extraction method (if done properly) will leave your carpet residue free and clean for as long as possible. Dirt is an abrasive, like sandpaper, every time you step on your carpet, you grind dirt into the carpet fibers.  Knowing this, one should vacuum their carpets at least 2 times a week.  While vacuuming helps, by itself, it simply is not enough.  Today's carpet fibers are designed to hide dirt, which is good to a degree. Frequent cleaning is needed to minimize the effects of the abrasive nature of dirt.  Cleaning should be done every 9-12 months or more with families with pets and children.

Myth 2: The only reason you should clean your carpet is to remove the dirt.

Carpet is the biggest filter in your home and it needs cleaning on a regular basis to remove germs, mites, dander and other allergens. Removing these microscopic particles will leave your home smelling better and reduce allergies and other sickness.

Myth 3: Having the right equipment is all a company needs to properly clean your carpets and upholstery.
Many companies have the most expensive equipment around but still can't clean well due to lack of experience and knowledge. This will result in a low quality cleaning job and often times over wetting of the carpet.  Botanical Carpet Cleaning has both the equipment and experience backed by continued education to provide you with the best clean possible.

Myth 4: I can get the same results by renting a machine and ‘doing it myself.’
Cleaning consists of 3 parts: Time, Chemical, and Agitation.  In order to get the best clean, one has to have the proper amounts of each.  Do-it-your-selfer's have plenty of time on their hands but high quality chemicals and proper agitation are only achieved by professional cleaning chemicals (and knowledge) and high powered carpet cleaning.  Even if a home owner could find the right chemicals, it would be very hard to find cleaning equipment powerful enough to achieve the proper temperature and pressure to clean deep down into the carpet fibers.  This is best left to Botanical Carpet Cleaning.  We have years of experience, the best chemicals in the industry and "state of the art" equipment.  We will leave your carpet residue free, clean and moist (not sopping wet) to the touch.

Myth 5: The cleaner with the lowest price is the company you should hire.
We all like to find bargains, but you really have to be careful what bargains you choose when shopping for a service. Comparison shopping can be very confusing with a service. Unlike TV shopping, you can't just go from one store to the next trying to find the lowest price on brand X.  The lowest priced in the carpet cleaning industry may yield quality nowhere near the same as a higher priced competitor. Remember, price is what you pay and value is what you receive. What value is there in spending half of what you should have spent on a quality service if the cheaper service doesn’t perform up to standards?
